National Assembly Continues the Debate of the RA State Draft Budget for 2013

On November 13 the parliament continued the work of the four-day sittings. The President of the House of Representatives of the Eastern Republic of Uruguay Jorge Orrico and the delegation led by him, who arrived in Armenia on an official visit, were attending the sitting.

Welcoming the guests, the NA President Hovik Abrahamyan said: “Dear Mr Orrico, we are very glad to host in the RA National Assembly a political and state figure, who represents a state, which launched the process of international recognition of the Genocide”. The Head of the Parliament has noted that Armenian people remember with gratitude that step taken by Uruguay and thanked Jorge Orrico and the friendly people of Uruguay.

In his speech the President of the House of Representatives of the Eastern Republic of Uruguay has noted that Uruguay is a small country, and its inhabitants have many similarities with Armenians. According to Jorge Orrico, Uruguay has been and always will be defender of human rights. “We are the grandchildren of the Uruguayans, who in 1915 opened their hearts to receive the persecuting nations, among them were also Armenians”, Jorge Orrico said. Noting that Uruguay is the first state in the world that according to the law has recognized the Armenian Genocide, Jorge Orrico has said that in their country Armenian Genocide Museum functions, and every year on April 24 in the Uruguayan Parliament they remember the Armenian Genocide and pay tribute to the victims’ memory. Among more than 120 partner states the President of the House of Representatives of the Eastern Republic of Uruguay distinguished Armenia as an important strategic partner.

Then the MPs continued the work of the sitting and by voting passed all the issues debated on the previous day. The National Assembly continued the debate of the RA draft law “On the RA State Budget for 2013”.

The Deputy Chairman of the RA CC Nerses Yeritsyan gave a speech on the State Draft Budget for 2013.

The National Assembly in extraordinary order debated the issue on passing in the first reading the RA draft law “On Amending the RA Law on Minimum Monthly Wage” submitted by the ARF faction.

The key speaker the member of the ARF faction Aghvan Vardanyan presented the essence of the draft law.

The Chairman of the NA Standing Committee on Social Affairs Hakob Hakobyan presented the Committee’s endorsement.

In his speech the RA Minister of Finance Vache Gabrielyan pointed out the shortcomings of the draft law.

The deputies addressed questions to the speakers on the draft law under debate and the Government’s programmes in the sphere, then an exchange of thoughts took place.

Ending the extraordinary debate of the issue the National Assembly continued debating the RA State Draft Budget for 2013. The Chairman of the NA Standing Committee on Financial-Credit and Budgetary Affairs Gagik Minasyan delivered a speech on this issue.

The Chairman of the NA Standing Committee on Defense, National Security and Internal Affairs Koryun Nahapetyan presented the Committee’s endorsement.

The debates of the RA draft law “On the RA State Budget for 2013” will continue at November 14 sitting of the National Assembly.
